Life gets easier when you decide to start upgrading your truck. Yeah the wife might freak when you bank account starts trickling down but hey… its worth it right. If your looking to make a few changes to your ride you should look into getting a tonneau cover. What is a tonneau cover? Its simply a truck bed cover made out of hard plastic, soft vinyl fabric, retractable aluminum or any other material on the market. What I find special about these products is the adjust-ability I have to fit my lifestyle.
When I take my dirt bikes out all I have to do is fold up my Extang cover a bam… I have all the room in the world for my two bikes. Whats makes my cover great is the security features. When I get to the trails and unload my bikes, I can leave all my fuel tanks and other gear in my truck bed. Then simply fold the tonneau cover back and lock it up. I have even attempted to break into my own cover to test it out. No success my friends.
Another sweet feature is the weather resistance. Living in Colorado we get all the weather under the sun including rain, hail, snow and extreme heat. None of these conditions has phased this 3 year old cover. Now I have heard of guys with snap covers that have experience difficulty opening and closing their covers in extreme cold. However, I have chosen the folding cover which is a breeze (no pun intended) in the cold weather.
Another benefit of tonneau covers is the storage capabilities. I own a mud flap company and I constantly have to haul packages over to UPS. I load my truck with pre packaged Rock Tamers and need to keep them secure. My covers mix of security and storage never make me question whether or not my gear is safe.
At the end of the day there are products that are functional and stylish. In my opinion, you get the best of both worlds when you choose a great truck bed cover. Remember there is a cover for everyone for every price point so don’t sweat it if you can’t afford a $600 expense. Enjoy your new toys and always treat your truck right.

The New Rock Tamers
If you tow a boat, fifth wheel or trailer then you have probably noticed big mud flaps on the back of trucks from time to time. The most popular mud flap system on the market it called Rock Tamers. How do these mud flaps work? The system attaches to your receiver hitch, sitting directly behind your truck or SUV. The location of the system stops more rocks and more debris from kicking up versus smaller mud flap applications. The best part is this system is both adjustable and removable. Feeling like taking the wife out on the town? Take the truck! Remove the mudflap system in minutes and your ready to go. Plus, they are lightweight for easy storage on the garage wall.
This blog is titled, "The New Rock Tamers" because Cruiser Accessories just launched a new, two times as strong forged set of Rock Tamers. First, this system has a few different parts that are worth noting. These parts include: a center hub (used to attach to your vehicle), two spindles, two adjustable arms and two mud flaps. The original models are made of cast aluminum and are very strong. They will take rock damage and are rust resistant. However, the new forged model is twice as strong and made of double strength forged aluminum. This makes for an insanely strong mud flap system that will not break or snap. The arms on a hitch system must be very strong to resist vibrations from on and off road surfaces. This new forged system counters the vibrations and gives of the strong system yet. Oh, you also get a lifetime warranty.
